⠀⠀⠀Distribution of all North American red squirrels[1]
⠀⠀⠀They're a subspecies of red squirrels known as Tamiasciurus fremonti grahamensis, and can only be found at Mount Graham Arizona. Their fur on the back and sides is a brownish red, and theres a black stripe separating their white belly; and a brown-red tail with white flecks.[1] Their build is about 12 inches long and they can weigh ~8 ounces.[1] They're only slighty different to other red squirrels in North America, with a narrower skull and reduced size, but still enough genetic difference to be a distinct species.
⠀⠀⠀These squirrels enjoy doing a lot of stuff, such as hoarding food, defending their home, and not hiberning during winter since they dont feel like it. One interesting thing they do to pass time is yapping with a rattle to announce their presense, or making a buzz sound when they're a male approaching a female, and growling when chasing/fighting the opps. Their primary source of food is coniferous tree seeds, or yummy insect & mushroom cuisine, and bird eggs or nestlings if the insects got lost. Like most squirrels, they create "middens", which is used as a moist-cool environment to store seeds; they gaurd these and the territory surrounding it the most.
